21.06.26 Mam Tor Summer Solstice Sunrise Hike
Back to the Peak District National Park we go!
Join us for a special Summer Solstice adventure as we take on a spectacular 12.5km circular hike through some of the Peak District’s most iconic landscapes, including Mam Tor, The Great Ridge, Castleton and Winnats Pass.
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, making it the perfect time to get outdoors and connect with nature. For those travelling with us on the Birmingham minibus, the adventure begins well before sunrise as we journey towards the Peaks, watching the dawn break and the countryside come alive with stunning colours. We can not promise it but we hope to expect golden skies, fresh morning air, breathtaking views and an unforgettable day on the trails.
Whether you’re joining solo or with friends this is the perfect way to welcome summer surrounded by nature, community and good vibes.
The Route
From the summit, we’ll enjoy sweeping views across the Hope Valley, Edale Valley, Kinder Scout, and the Derwent Moors.
After reaching the summit, we’ll stride along the famous Great Ridge, a stunning ridge walk stretching approximately 3km from Mam Tor to Lose Hill above the villages of Castleton and Hope. This well-paved route offers incredible scenery in every direction. For some this may be enough and the option to return back to the minibus will be available
We’ll then descend towards Castleton before making our way to the dramatic limestone valley of Winnats Pass, one of the most photographed locations in the Peak District.
Expect plenty of photo opportunities, good energy and unforgettable scenery & vibes throughout the day.
