GOOD LUCK 〰️
Just under a year ago, a small but determined group within the Trekkers community took their first steps on a Couch to 5K journey. They laced up their trainers, built confidence, and discovered a shared love for running.
What started as a simple initiative to get moving has grown into something far more inspiring. Week by week, members pushed past their limits, supporting one another through early mornings, tough runs, and personal milestones. Week after week park runs turned into their local spot but the finish line of a first 5K was only the beginning.

Now, in a remarkable testament to that dedication, several of those same runners are preparing to take on an even bigger challenge: the AJ Bell Birmingham Half Marathon on the 3rd May. Covering 13.1 miles, 21 kilometres it’s a huge leap from where they started—but one they’ve earned every step of the way. Others have chosen to shutdown limiting beliefs and take on the 10K race.
“I’m ready to go! My first ever 10k on the 3rd May, with help and support from Trekkers! This is actually my second attempt at doing this race so i’m hoping this time will be a success” - Nadia
“I’m feeling a mix of excitement and a few nerves as race day approaches, it feels like a big moment! I’m really looking forward to the experience, especially running with the Trekkers UK group as I know the energy and support will make it even more special. Mostly, i’m just excited to challenge myself, enjoy the atmosphere and cross that finish line knowing I gave it my all” - Tee
Their journey is more than just a running story. It’s about community, perseverance, and the power of starting small. From couch to 5K to half marathon, Trekkers have proven that with the right mindset and support, anything is possible.
“I’m feeling excited and a bit nervous about the day, but really looking forward to finishing” - Nisha
As race day approaches, the whole group is behind them cheering them on as they take this incredible next stride.
“Starting this journey and encouraging others to take that first step has meant so much. Seeing more and more of our community feel inspired to run is truly heartwarming.
I’ve witnessed the real power of support, unity, and encouragement, all of us beginning from the same place and growing stronger together every step of the way over the past year.
Even though I’m currently injured, there’s no way I’m missing this moment. I’ll be right there at the start line, cheering on every single person who has trained so hard for this. Watching everyone show up, ready to take on this challenge, is what it’s all about.
I’d rather be a “did not finish” than a “did not start” just so I can be there to support my army as they go after it.” - Monique, Founder
“Race day feels like a dream yet very real at the same time” - Mary
To all our runners, the hard work has already been done. Every mile, every early start, and every moment of determination has led you here.
We wish you all the very best on race day. We will run strong, enjoy every step, and be proud of how far we’ve come. We’re all behind you!
