15.11.26 - Elan Valley Reservoir

from £2.00

Squad, we’re heading to Wales! 👀🥾

This November, we’re swapping the usual weekend routine for the breathtaking landscapes of Elan Valley, a stunning part of the Welsh countryside known for its spectacular reservoirs, impressive dams, rolling hills and beautiful open spaces. Back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Elan Valley dams and reservoirs were constructed to supply Birmingham with clean drinking water. The ambitious engineering project transformed this beautiful Welsh landscape and created a water supply system that continues to serve the city today.

Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself, discover somewhere new or simply spend a day outdoors with good people, this one’s for you!

So, lace up those hiking boots, grab your waterproofs (just incase!) and get ready for our last transported trip of the year!

🥾 The Hike

Get ready to explore approximately 13km of the beautiful Elan Valley landscape!

This is a moderate-level hike, with the main incline at the beginning as we make our way out of the valley. It’s a chance to get those legs working early before continuing our adventure through the surrounding countryside.

Expect uphill sections, uneven terrain and plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery along the way.

You don’t need to be an expert hiker, but you should be comfortable walking longer distances and tackling uphill sections.

As always, we’re about more than reaching the destination. We’ll take our time, encourage one another, enjoy the journey and create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
